Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and actor-politician Kangana Ranaut on Friday attended a special screening of the film Bharat Bhagya Vidhata at a multiplex cinema here.

Ranaut’s visit to Odisha coincided with World Environment Day celebrations and a series of public engagements, highlighting the growing convergence of culture, cinema, and social awareness initiatives in the state. The special screening added a touch of glamour to the day’s events while showcasing support for Indian cinema and creative talent.

The event brought together prominent political leaders, members of the film fraternity and cinema enthusiasts. Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, state ministers and other senior leaders were also present at the screening.

Speaking on the occasion, Majhi lauded Ranaut’s remarkable journey in the entertainment industry and public life, stating that her achievements, earned through determination, hard work, and perseverance, serve as an inspiration for aspiring artistes and young achievers across the country.

The screening was attended by the cast and crew of Bharat Bhagya Vidhata, prominent personalities from the Odia film industry, media representatives and a large number of movie lovers. The event turned into a celebration of cinema, drawing enthusiastic participation from guests and film enthusiasts alike.

Earlier in the day, Majhi and Ranaut participated in a tree plantation programme under the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign at the Chief Minister’s official residence on the occasion of World Environment Day 2026.

The campaign, which promotes environmental conservation through community participation, encourages people to plant trees in honour of their mothers. The Chief Minister and the actor-MP planted saplings and appealed to citizens to contribute actively to environmental protection and sustainable development.
